Music to bring peace

where peace cannot be found

We believe music brings healing.

Africa Sings exists to use music as a tool for peacebuilding, peacemaking, and reconciliation between different ethnic groups and faiths in West Africa. Our educational music programs and cultural events serve as a bridge where interethnic and interreligious conflicts claim many lives and properties every year. Our music is also an instrument to promote reconciliation and unity within the body of Christ in West Africa, healing old divisions and bringing new life and new hope to our region.

OUR MISSION

Peace music at the service of God and human beings.

The intention or the desire of Africa Sings is to employ music (especially the indigenous music) in order to bridge between Christians and Muslims, and ethnic groups. As an organization with Christian values, Africa Sings witnesses Christ through music.
OUR goals
Training and Education
Since 2016, Africa Sings has conducted periodical training sessions in music and singing, seminars, and workshops. The trainees and trainers are be multi-ethnic and multi-faith, especially the youth. The diversity aims at cultivating and promoting the spirit of unity and mutual understanding among youth who are the future leaders of the region.
documenting and producing indigenous music

Africa Sings is actively working to collect, transcribe, and print traditional African Christian songs for peacebuilding purposes. These efforts will produce quick repertoires and a standard multi-lingual hymnal. In addition, we are working to build a recording studio to promote local musicians.

musical events

Since 2015, Africa Sings has been hosting a Peace Song Festival for peacebuilding in the local community. This festival provides a common ground for both African Christians and Muslims to meet, interact, learn, and perform together. As a result, local Christians can enter into the culture and context of local Muslims and build friendships.
